Overview

A permanent magnet synchronous motor sits directly on the air end shaft. There is no gearbox, no coupling, and no belt. This eliminates transmission losses.

The frequency inverter reads the system pressure sensor every 200 milliseconds and adjusts motor speed accordingly. If your air consumption drops to 40% of capacity, the motor runs at 40% speed and draws roughly 40% power.

Over a year of operation, facilities with fluctuating demand typically see their compressed air electricity bill reduced by 25% to 40% compared to a fixed speed machine of the same size.

Design Highlights

Permanent Magnet Motor

The rotor uses rare-earth magnets. It generates the same torque at low RPM as at high RPM, with no rotor copper losses.

Frequency Inverter

An industrial-grade vector inverter controls the motor. It handles voltage fluctuations of ±15% without tripping.

Low Noise at Part Load

At 50% load the fan and motor run slower. Measured noise drops to around 65 dB(A) on a 75kW unit.

Touchscreen Controller

A 7-inch color display shows real-time power consumption in kW, specific energy in kW/m³/min, and weekly trend graphs.
