Compressed Air Receiver Tank

An air receiver is a pressure vessel that stores compressed air. It acts as a buffer between the compressor and the air distribution system. It smooths out pressure fluctuations, allows condensate to settle out, and provides reserve air for demand peaks.

Why Choose This Product

Pressure Buffer

Pressure Buffer

A properly sized tank reduces the number of load/unload cycles on the compressor. For a VSD compressor, it smooths out rapid demand changes that the inverter cannot follow fast enough.

Moisture Separation

Moisture Separation

Air slows down and cools inside the tank. Water condenses and falls to the bottom. This provides a first stage of moisture removal before the dryer.

ASME or PED Certified

ASME or PED Certified

Tanks ship with a data plate, material certificates, and inspection documentation per ASME or PED depending on the destination country requirements.

How It Works

Without a receiver tank, the compressor must respond instantly to every change in air demand. The tank stores a volume of compressed air that absorbs demand spikes, reducing the frequency of compressor loading and unloading.

The tank also cools the air slightly as it sits in the vessel, allowing moisture to condense and collect at the bottom. An automatic drain removes this water before it enters the distribution piping.

Standard tanks are carbon steel with a painted exterior and bare interior. For applications where internal corrosion is a concern — such as food plants or coastal environments — a hot-dip galvanized interior coating is available.
