How It Works

When a fiber laser cuts carbon steel with air assist, the air pressure at the nozzle determines cut speed and edge quality. Low-power lasers (1–3kW) need 12–16 bar. High-power lasers (6–30kW) need 20–40 bar.

This compressor is packaged as a complete air preparation system: a two-stage screw compressor, a refrigerated dryer, a heated desiccant dryer, and three stages of filtration. The output is ISO 8573-1 Class 1.2.1 — meaning particles below 0.1 mg/m³, dew point below -40°C, and oil below 0.01 mg/m³.

Without this level of air quality, the laser nozzle clogs, cut quality drops, and the laser optics can be damaged by oil or moisture in the air stream.
