Refrigerated Compressed Air Dryer

Compressed air from any compressor contains moisture. This dryer cools the air to condense the water out, then reheats the air slightly before it enters your piping. The result is dry air with a pressure dew point of 2–10°C.

About This Product

Every cubic meter of compressed air at 25°C and 8 bar contains about 8 grams of water vapor. When this air cools in pipes or at point of use, the water condenses and causes rust, product damage, and tool wear.

The refrigerated dryer chills the compressed air to about 3°C inside a heat exchanger. Water condenses out and drains through an automatic trap. The dry air then passes through an air-to-air heat exchanger that pre-cools incoming air while rewarming the outgoing air.

This is the most common type of compressed air dryer. It is suitable for general manufacturing, workshops, and most pneumatic applications. For applications needing lower dew points (below 0°C), a desiccant dryer is required instead.

Technical Advantages

Energy-Saving Cycling Mode

Energy-Saving Cycling Mode

Some models use a thermal mass that stores cold. The refrigeration compressor cycles on and off rather than running continuously, saving 50% electricity at partial load.

Dual Heat Exchanger Design

Dual Heat Exchanger Design

An air-to-air exchanger and an air-to-refrigerant exchanger work together. Incoming hot air pre-cools against outgoing cold air, reducing the refrigeration load.

Automatic Electronic Drain

Automatic Electronic Drain

A timer-controlled solenoid valve opens periodically to dump collected water. A float drain provides backup in case of high condensate volume.
