Overview

Nitrogen generators typically produce N₂ at 5–8 bar. Many applications need it at much higher pressures. Laser cutting assist gas needs 20–40 bar. Accumulator charging needs 150–200 bar. Pressure testing needs up to 300 bar.

The booster compressor takes the low-pressure nitrogen and raises it to the target pressure. Piston-type boosters are used for higher flows; diaphragm types are used where absolute zero contamination is required.

The gas path is oil-free in both types. Piston models use PTFE packing rings. Diaphragm models have no contact between gas and mechanical parts at all.
